Gear up for a 'Labor of Love' this upcoming holiday season in Hood County!

From illuminating the shores with a dazzling lighted boat parade on Lake Granbury to turning the Granbury square into a festive hub for the Labor Day extravaganza, and even roping in the excitement in Glen Rose, our small towns are about to paint the town red (white, and blue)! Join us as we celebrate Labor Day like never before, proving that when it comes to festivities, Hood County truly knows how to 'work' it!

 

Lighted Boat Parade- Lake Granbury September 3 @ 8:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Get ready to set sail on a shimmering spectacle this Labor Day at Lake Granbury's iconic lit boat parade of 60+ boats as they head to Rockin’ S Bar & Grill for judging! As the sun dips below the horizon, the waters come alive with a symphony of twinkling lights adorning boats of all shapes and sizes. Click here for parade route, viewing locations, and boater information. Afterparty at Rockin’ S Bar & Grill. 

Sunday night September 3rd Lake Granbury. Dusk.
Boats leave Stumpys Cove approx 8:15 – 8:30 pm or when it’s dark.
They travel towards Rockin S Bar & Grill/Marina  for official judging. (a great place to view parade)
Then they travel towards the downtown area reaching Mesquite Grill (another great viewing location) and return back to Stumpys Cove.
Enjoy the view from the City Beach and Conference Center Board walk and any open view area. Should be approx. 60 well lit boats!
Anywhere along that route with public access is a great place to watch.  The City Beach also offers great viewing.
 
Boat participants-
There is no entry fee but you will be assigned a (large) number to display as you pass by judging. Numbers available at Stumpy’s Saturday September 2nd 3-6pm and 6pm – 8pm Sunday September 3rd. Their long dock.
After Party at Rockin S Bar 7 Grill. Awards presented. No admission fee.

Granbury Labor Day Weekend Festival September 1 - 4, 2023

Vendors will be lining the streets of the Granbury square and of course, the shops downtown will be adorned with banners announcing fun, festive sales! Enjoy live music by the Mysterious Scoundrels at the Pavillion Stage. If the lake is calling your name, the City Beach will have all the usual water activities – kayaks and tubes, etc., rent a bicycle, stand up waterboards and more. 

 

All-Day Celebration at the Salt Lick Creamery & Rustic Cheesery

Visit Salt Lick in Bluff Dale from 11am-9pm on Sep. 4 for cornhole, giant Jenga, and ice cream! First 50 customers get a “Get Licked” keychain.
